Fundbox enlisted us to create a bright, energetic design for their new office in a historic San Francisco building. We designated lounge areas within their existing open floor plan using soft seating in muted tones, paired with colorful accents, artwork, and vintage textiles. To break up the monotony of the traditional lounge arrangement, we included a hammock oasis surrounded by plants, which makes the most of the space’s abundant natural light and unbeatable views of downtown.
The company houses several teams that work independently, so we designed dedicated work spaces tailored to their individual needs while including informal, multipurpose lounges for collaboration throughout. Meeting rooms were styled with a midcentury sensibility using walnut conference tables and brass fixtures while seamlessly incorporating Fundbox’s branding colors through accent walls and decor. This comprehensive design reflects the company's level of sophistication while demonstrating pride in their brand.
For Chewse's new 4,000 square foot San Francisco office we set out to create a space that would support this company's collaborative work environment and reflect their welcoming, playful vibe. We worked with the space's existing open plan and used strategic furniture and horticulture to designate areas for different functionalities in lieu of traditional partitions. The building's high ceilings and abundant natural light created an ideal setting for tall plants, which we used throughout the space to bring a bit of the outdoors in. For the lounge and reception areas, we chose soft seating in cool muted palettes, adding in graphic textiles and bright decor items.
Because team meals are an important element of Chewse’s office culture, they needed a fully functioning kitchen and ample dining space to accommodate everyone at once. We created an efficient desk arrangement for Chewse’s work area to maximize space and encourage productivity, including a storage unit for each pod to reduce clutter. For the meeting rooms, we worked to complement the minimal beauty of the existing cement walls and skylights by keeping the design simple using a mix of light wood, white seating, and ample plant life. The end result is a relaxed yet sophisticated environment that is welcoming to employees and clients alike.
Metamarkets’ project presented us with the challenge of creating a transposable design that would allow this growing company to accommodate its rapidly expanding team. Working with the space’s industrial elements and exposed brick walls, we created a welcoming environment by repurposing existing furniture and arranging desks to support new hires.
With multiple lounges throughout the office, we used vibrant textiles and decor items to compliment the company’s playful and energetic vibe. We chose mid-century furniture in a mix of bright and muted tones to bring color into the space while maintaining an aesthetic balance.
Now they have a bright, sophisticated space that reflects their company aesthetic and empowers their team.
Everybody loves a three-peat. Since starting up in 2013, Shyp has grown dramatically and we’re proud to say we’ve been around from the get-go.
As the company matures, so does their office design. For this third round, we moved them to height-adjustable work tables, built an additional meeting room, and threw in some hip décor to give the space more character.
We collaborated with the ladies at Crooked Nest to design and implement custom plant ladders that add some greenery to the space and double as botanic room dividers.
Yesware opted for our Bootstrap Your Office service to double the size of their previous office, combining their existing furniture with fresh pieces and unique décor.
We moved the team to standing desks and designed a kitchen, breakout lounges, call rooms, and formal board room in addition to a more laid back brainstorming space with guitars and amps for after-hours jam sessions.
Now they have an exciting new space to call their own.
SoftTechVC moved into a brand new office in South Park, San Francisco and needed a fully designed space that would allow them to entertain guests, celebrate their successes, and get to work meeting with their portfolio companies.
We designed a custom reception desk, meeting rooms, board rooms, reception lounge and personalized private offices. We collaborated with Crooked Nest to create unique and thriving plant life throughout the space, complete with a custom live plant wall and large terrariums.
When Attachments.me outgrew their incubator space, they reached out to Swell Spaces to design a new space in the old Hamm’s Brewery building.
Inspired by mid-century modern interiors, we transformed what once was a storage room into a bright and modern office space with a reception area, communal dining table, a music lounge, collaborative work pods and a soft seating board room.
Originally, this Mission District loft was your typical modern bachelor pad. Swell Spaces was asked to design a living space that reflected the owner's personal style and the character of the Mission neighborhood.
Swell Spaces chose vintage and modern furniture pieces from local shops and used the loft's open plan as an opportunity bring in large plants for a more welcoming home.
